How to Unlock Catch 1 Billion Ducks Classes
Spend Feathers in the lobby shop to leave the local hunter kit for Pyromancer, Military Soldier, or Engineer.
The Roblox experience now ships under the public title [CLASSES] Catch 1 Billion Ducks. That prefix is not flavor text. Billion Duck Hunters added a Feather-gated class layer on top of the old loop: equip a weapon, prepare your dog, shoot ducks, sell the haul, upgrade. Classes change the hunter identity you take into a day — a starting local kit, a flame Pyromancer, a Military Soldier with an M4-style loadout, or an Engineer with a deployable auto-turret — while dogs still fetch and the freezer still pays cash.
This guide explains how classes fit the economy, how the DUCKS code helps, what the shop is selling beside classes, and how to avoid spending Feathers on cosmetics before combat. Pair it with the classes tier list, active codes, and how to get feathers.
What a class actually is
A class is a lobby unlock that swaps your hunter identity and the weapon fantasy attached to it. The August 23, 2026 Classes update added four named identities players actually chase:
| Class | What you are buying | Typical weapon fantasy | Abilities |
|---|---|---|---|
| Local hunter (starter) | Default kit so you can learn the loop | Basic rifle / sniper-style starter | None |
| Pyromancer | Flame hunter identity | Flamethrower pressure on flocks | Fire Bullets, Fireball |
| Military Soldier | Professional hunter identity | M4-style automatic pressure | Lock In, Grenade |
| Engineer | Turret and defensive identity | Deployable auto-turret + barricade | Deployable Turret, Barricade |
Engineer comes with two unique abilities: Deployable Turret — a turret that automatically shoots ducks for you while you keep hunting or reposition — and Barricade — extra protection against charging ducks and boss attacks. Best for players who like a set up and let it work playstyle, or who keep losing HP to aggressive ducks.
Military Soldier abilities: Lock In — frenzy mode that increases attack and reload speed for a burst window — and Grenade — an explosive that destroys huge flocks of ducks at once. The most aggressive class; pair Lock In with a fast automatic and Grenades with flock events for maximum feathers per minute.
Pyromancer abilities: Fire Bullets — sets ducks on fire for damage over time — and Fireball — throws a huge fireball into the flock. Great crowd control: the burn keeps killing while you aim elsewhere, and Fireball clears dense groups without precise aim.
Exact prices move in beta. Treat the table as roles, then read the live shop. If a class is greyed out, you need more Feathers, not a script.
Classes do not replace dogs. Jeff still retrieves. Duckle still helps if you claimed the group gift. An Engineer with a slow dog still leaks kills into the pond. Upgrade the companion in upgrade dog Jeff after you pick a class, not instead of picking one.
How to unlock a class (lobby flow)
- Finish or skip into the lobby so the shop HUD is visible. Do not try to buy a class in the middle of a hunt day.
- Check your Feather counter. Hunt cash (from selling ducks) and Feathers are different currencies.
- Redeem DUCKS for 100 Feathers if you have not already — active codes and how to redeem.
- Open the shop row that lists hunting classes.
- Buy the class you can actually fire comfortably on your device (PC Left Click / R / E / Esc, console RT / X / A / B, or mobile on-screen buttons).
- Equip the class loadout, prepare the dog, then start a day so you can feel clear speed versus the starter kit.
If the class button does nothing, you are short on Feathers. Farm a day, sell, bank boss Feathers, redeem the code, then return. Do not buy Robux until you have tested whether the next class is even the bottleneck — upgrade priority still applies.
Where Feathers come from
Feathers drop slowly from ordinary ducks (White Duck is documented at 0.01 Feathers in the Duck Index), spike on boss days, and now also arrive from DUCKS. That is why the code is worth redeeming before you grind the first class. Group rewards still matter: free rewards and Duckle improve the retrieve side so class damage is not wasted on uncollected bodies.
After a class purchase, keep farming Feathers for the next shop row. Heavier guns such as an Anti-Air Cannon and the T3Sl4 Prototype sit in the same Feather economy. A class without a gun you can aim is a costume with extra steps.
What else the class shop sells
The same lobby layer sells:
- Weapons beyond the starter — including an expensive Anti-Air Cannon and the T3Sl4 Prototype with multi-target elimination VFX in community shop reports.
- Dog costumes — duck-themed outfit and a Rex-style suit. These are visual. They do not make Jeff deposit faster. That job belongs to Dog Dexterity.
Spend order after DUCKS: class or combat gun first, costume last. If you can only afford a hat, hunt one more day.
Which class should you pick first?
Based on playstyle:
- New players — Hunter (if available) is forgiving. The Engineer turret keeps shooting while you handle other things, making it good for AFK-ish farming.
- Boss focus — Military Soldier Lock In gives the biggest damage burst windows for boss fights.
- Flock clear — Pyromancer Fire Bullets and Fireball excel at clearing dense duck groups.
- AFK / passive — Engineer Deployable Turret works while you reposition or manage other tasks.
Test the new kit on a normal day before you skip into Devil Duck or Boss Duck. If the kit feels worse than the local starter on your device, refund is unlikely in a Roblox shop — so try the class on a quiet server first.
How classes interact with bosses and days
Devil Duck, Boss Duck, and Titan-scale swarms still care about damage, reload, pellet coverage, and dog logistics. A class that raises fire rate helps flocks; a class that only looks cooler does not. Test the new kit on a normal day before you skip into boss fights.
Day skips and V-key boss prompts do not change. Classes ride on top of how to play and clear a day fast.
Common mistakes
- Skipping the code. One hundred Feathers is the cheapest class head start on the wiki right now.
- Buying a costume first. Cosmetics do not clear Devil Duck.
- Ignoring the dog. Classes shoot; dogs convert shots into freezer value.
- Assuming Trello has secret class prices. There is no official board — see Trello status.
- Running a script to unlock classes. Classes are a Feather shop. Scripts are a ToS risk documented on scripts.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
How do I unlock classes in Catch 1 Billion Ducks?
Earn Feathers from hunts, bosses, and the DUCKS code, then buy a class in the lobby shop. Pyromancer, Military Soldier, and Engineer are the named unlocks players chase after the local starter.
Does the DUCKS code unlock a class instantly?
It grants 100 Feathers, which is a head start toward a class, not a free class drop. Check the live shop after you redeem.
What are Engineer's abilities?
Engineer has Deployable Turret (auto-shoots ducks while you move) and Barricade (extra protection against charging ducks and boss attacks). Best for passive or defensive playstyles.
Should I buy Pyromancer or Military Soldier first?
Buy the kit you can fire comfortably. Pyromancer excels at flock clear with burn damage; Military Soldier excels at burst damage with Lock In and Grenades. Engineer is best for AFK-style farming.
Do dog costumes count as classes?
No. Costumes are cosmetic. Classes change hunter identity and weapon fantasy. Dexterity and capacity still come from dog upgrades.
Do I still need weapons if I have a class?
Yes. Classes and guns stack. An Anti-Air Cannon, T3Sl4 Prototype, or M4-style kit still needs aim, reload, and a dog that can keep up.
