How to Beat Devil Duck

Devil Duck is the first named end-of-day boss in Catch 1 Billion Ducks. Community testing around August 2026 put it near 620 HP and about $600 on a clean Day 1 kill. Press V when the day timer shows the end-of-day prompt. It is smaller than Titan Duck and simpler than the later Boss Duck check, but it still punishes a first run that skipped weapon damage.

Read How to Beat Boss Duck with this page. The two fights share “hold fire into the big hitbox” logic. Devil Duck is the practice round.

Prep before you press V

  1. Buy at least one or two weapon damage ranks. Pellet count helps flocks; Devil Duck is a single fat target, so damage ranks matter more than a pretty costume.
  2. Have Feathers or cash ready to spend after the kill, not during it. Redeem DUCKS before the day if you still need a class for fire rate, but do not open the lobby shop mid-peck.
  3. Keep HP up. Aggressive small ducks (some tests near 150 HP) can chip you before the boss prompt. Clear dives first.
  4. Make sure Jeff can convert the body. A 620 HP kill that the dog never delivers is a wasted skip. Dog Dexterity helps the freezer side after the fight.
  5. Know the difference between this bird and Big Boy on the Duck Index. Big Boy is a roaming mini-boss flavor; Devil Duck is the scheduled Day 1 closer.

The fight

When the prompt appears, press V. Do not wait in the pause menu arguing with teammates about skip votes unless your damage is clearly too low — then skip the skip and farm one more sell cycle.

Hold fire on the body, not the sky. Reload with R on PC, X on console, or the on-screen reload on mobile. Esc closes menus if you fat-fingered CODES during the panic. Sidestep pecks; you cannot tank a full combo on a starter kit.

If you bought Pyromancer or Military Soldier, the extra pressure helps, but a class is not a substitute for the $10 damage ranks. Test the kit on a normal flock first — classes tier list.

After the kill

Sell immediately. Convert the ~$600 plus whatever is in the freezer. Spend on the upgrade that would have shortened the fight: usually damage, then pellets, then dog speed. Do not buy a Rex costume with boss cash.

Bank any Feathers toward the next class or Anti-Air Cannon row. Recheck active codes only if you have not redeemed DUCKS yet.

Fight Devil Duck on later days when your gun is ready. It remains one of the most reliable early cash spikes in the beta. If the HP number moved after the [CLASSES] patch, trust the health bar you see, not a frozen screenshot.

Enter prepared, hold fire, sell, upgrade. That is the whole Day 1 exam.
